Robby Rodriguez: “In May, as we were developing our messages for the primary campaign, the immigration issue was one of the hot issues that was being talked about all throughout the country. So we knew that it was going to be a tough sell on the doors but we also knew that it was going to be something that was very salient. People were hearing about it multiple times a day, there were big giant marches happening all over and it was an opportunity for us to start to introduce some different ideas and messages about something that I would say that we mostly didn’t agree with the mainstream messages that were getting out to the community.”
